Former WBLX-FM radio personality Ray-Ray Russell died Friday morning. He was 42.
Russell, well-known in the community for his love of music as well as for his sports broadcasting, was diagnosed with heart disease two years ago and was on a waiting list for a heart transplant.
He stopped breathing Thursday night and was taken to Mobile Infirmary Medical Center, where, surrounded by family, he died just before 7 a.m. Friday, said his sister, Zina Russell Anderson.
